About the Presenter

Dr. Deines received his BA degree in History from Fort Hays State University, his Masters in Business from Emporia State University, and his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Nebraska. He has been at Kansas State University since 1982 where he now holds the Ralph Crouch, KPMG Professorship in Accounting. Dan is active in the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Kansas Society of CPA and the National Business Education Association. In 2003, he was elected President of the Kansas Society of CPAs and was the first academic to serve in this office. He is the co-author with Penne Ainsworth of the text “Introduction to Accounting: an integrated approach”. In 2007 he was awarded the AICPA’s Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education award. He is also a charter member (1962) of the Banner Road Hunt Club of Collyer, Kansas.
