Session Description

The purpose of this presentation is to highlight, through dialogue and experiences, the importance of maintaining a successful dual credit program for students. The presentation will explore how to establish/implement support strategies for students, manage rapid growth, and handle CTE challenges/opportunities.

Session Goals

"As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the value/how to maintain positive partnerships with multiple ISDs. 2. Foster student support programs, to enhance students academically, socially, and emotionally. 3. Become familiar with how to structure and manage a successful dual credit program. 4. Provide quality CTE programs to help ISDs with students’ endorsements. 5. Share successes. • Apply these tools to participants' challenges."

Presentation Outline: 1. Outline our dual credit program success. 2. Share the resources we use to manage rapid growth. 3. Demonstrate best practices for participants to use, such as: a.Expanding high school dual credit offerings for academics and CTE. b. Advising dual credit students on college/career pathways, and transferability. c. Academic support. d. Introducing career/college opportunities to middle school students. e. Building strong relationships with high school counselors. 4. Discussion wherein participants are invited to share/discuss their institutions or campus challenges.
