Open Lab Concept: Increasing Student Enrollment and Performance

Session Description

A conceptual design of an open lab scenario that can increase student enrollment numbers without an increase in facility needs. The open lab allows for a direct approach to teaching concepts with a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the millennial student.

Session Goals

This session will cover:

  1. Detailing the development of an open lab concept from start to finish.
  2. Defining the pros and the cons of a traditional lab setting in comparison to an open lab.
  3. Defining challenges using data based solutions.
  4. Exemplifying student success.

Full Description

The presentation will be detailing concepts, design and sustainability of an open lab format in Anatomy and Physiology. Using PowerPoint and discussion the presentation will allow for an understanding of what you can do to increase student enrollments and student success with limited classroom space.
