CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
We are excited to offer 21 breakout sessions in four rounds, featuring topics in all areas of Early College High School and Dual Credit instruction and administration, including:
- Effective collaborations
- Data sharing
- Strategic sustainability
- Innovative instruction
- Course and program assessment
- Addressing the updated ECHS Blueprint
- New and Renewed MOUs post HB 1638
- Connections between ECHS and dual credit programs and CCMR and 60x30TX
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
This year’s keynote speaker is Holly Kosiewicz, Director of Policy Development at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and co-author of the Dual Credit Education Programs in Texas Phase II Report, published in December 2018. In her presentation she will share ways colleges and school districts can work together to
- Ensure students are adequately prepared to succeed in and have the necessary supports to benefit from Early College High Schools and dual credit education programs delivered in high schools,
- Continue to close gaps in dual credit participation rates across race and ethnicity,
- Encourage institutions to continue developing and implementing processes to ensure rigor in dual credit courses, and
- Improve advising processes and ensure equitable access to high-quality advising for dual credit students.
NETWORKING
School districts and college partners will have the opportunity to gather for targeted discussion and planning in conjunction with this conference. The preliminary program is attached to this message and will be updated as participating partners are confirmed for this portion of the afternoon conference activities.
