About the Presenter

Dr. Sha-shonda Porter serves as the Executive Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning at Tarrant County College. Prior to this role, Porter was Associate Dean of the School of World Languages, Cultures, and Communication at Richland College in Dallas, TX. She was also the founding Director of the Center for Integrative Learning and Teaching Innovation (CILTI). In this capacity, she developed and implemented signature programs and also designed and facilitated various professional development opportunities to advance Integrative Learning and promote the use of High-Impact Practices across campus. Dr. Porter served over 15 years in Healthcare/IT prior to shifting to higher education. Over the past 11 years, she has served in various capacities in higher education. Dr. Porter is a published author of both fiction and non-fiction works. She has earned a BA in Writing and Literature from Burlington College, an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Humanities and Culture from Union Institute & University, and most recently an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University.
